I really like this one as a background on my desktop. It's easier on the eyes than you might first expect.
I frame many of my images with a tree in the foreground, and since the primary use of the image is wallpaper, and majority of users icons run along the left side, I put the trees on the left.
Another beach scene, probably the best so far. I like beach scenes on my desktop, so don't expect this to be the last.
This image holds the record for taking too long. Too many blurry reflections, too many scattered and reflected light rays to calculated.
Not a very effective moat, but it makes a pretty lake.

The warming sun rises over fresh snow. You can tell older snow on mountains because all the thin areas have melted away, increasing the contrast.
This one started out with a blue sky, no mountains, and no lake. It changed slowly, and ended up much better than what I thought I was making.
Viking ships could sail up rivers reaching hundreds of miles inland.
